Thanks to surrogacy, Lalitha is a proud mother today even after the road accident which left her infertile
Few years back, Mrs Lalitha ( name changed ) met with a major road traffic accident which resulted in multiple fractures and head injury. Although she recovered from the other physical injuries, the accident left her infertile and robbed her of the dream of becoming a mother.
The couple underwent lot of treatments and several cycles of IVF and surrogacy in Bangalore, without any positive results. During one of the tries, surrogate mother conceived , but the baby was diagnosed as abnormal ( anencephaly) and had to be terminated, as it was not viable.
Then they came to me as a last resort. I convinced them that their years of yearning and waiting will be fruitful and they can cuddle their own baby. This renewed their hopes.
The pregnancy was achieved in surrogate mother, after a single blastocyst transfer ( day 5 embryo ) but the course of pregnancy was eventful. At 5 months, echogenic foci was noted on cardiac scan and they started losing hope. We had to give them long counseling sessions to convince them that this was a normal finding in scan.
After the long and anxious nine months wait, the surrogate delivered a healthy and beautiful baby and our joy knows no bounds. Couple who had waited all these years were both thrilled and emotional while holding the baby in their hands .
The surrogate mother is also very happy that she could help a childless couple complete their family.
